Kenya win Hong Kong 7s Bowl Final
Congratulations to the Kenya 7s team for winning the bowl final at the coveted Hong Kong 7s tournament over the weekend.

In their first tournament kitted out by Gilbert, the Kenyans were unlucky not to progress through the ‘group of death’ after narrow losses against Pool A winners Samoa 19-7 and England 21-17. That meant a win against Argentina in the last pool game would have sent the Kenyans through to the Cup quarter finals. Unfortunately, they narrowly lost again, 19-7.

However, the Kenyans bounced back well with a strong performance against the French in the bowl semi final, running out 29-0 winners. That setup a final against the USA, who had progressed with a 28-14 defeat of Scotland in their semi final. In a brilliant and close final, Kenya eventually ran out 14-12 winners.
Next week sees the HSBC Sevens World Series travel to Tokyo for the Japan leg. The draw has been made and pits kenya in Pool C alongside Argentina, Wales and Russia in a group they will be looking to progress into the main cup draw from.
